Assistant Franchise Manager

Location: Fulham | Contract: Permanent

The main purpose of the role is to act as the single contact point for the Franchisees to resolve any queries or issues they may have. You would be required to help develop the Laura Ashley Franchise business so that the Franchisees are given a true and up to date representation of the brand ensuring they are of equal standard to Laura Ashley stand alone stores.

The Position

1. This position will involve a combination of working with the Franchise Manager’s on direct partner relationship together with managing the Franchise supply chain.

2. You will have two direct reports to help manage the Franchise supply chain.

3. To manage the overall Supply Chain from taking and processing of orders to the eventual distribution to Partner markets.

4. To  provide advice to the Franchisees on new shop design, shop layout, product selection and buy levels, product merchandising and pricing, visual Merchandising, marketing/POS material and shop operations in order to maintain the Laura Ashley Brand Image.

5. To provide a single contact for the Franchisees to resolve any queries or issues they may have with relation to product, design, marketing, logistics, retail operations, training, finance and visual Merchandising through liaison with the appropriate Laura Ashley Department. 

6. To ensure that the Franchisees comply with the Contractual Terms and Standards expected of a store carrying the Laura Ashley brand name in order to withhold Brand Clarity and Image. (Shop displays, products, pricing and markdown policy, marketing, systems, financial information and payment of debts to Laura Ashley).

7. To assist in the organisation of buying conferences for the Franchisees.

8. To manage the openings of new shops around the World in line with established practice.

9. To help in assessing the suitability of applicants for a Laura Ashley Franchise and providing a view on their retail experience in order to filter applicants.

10. Ensure satisfaction of the Franchisees with Laura Ashley by maintaining and building upon working relationships.

11. Promote the prompt payment of debts to Laura Ashley.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

A minimum of 3 years Regional retail experience required, franchise experience would be advantageous but not essential.
A good visual eye, shop display experience with the ability to re-merchandise a store.

A good general business understanding, retail store economics, Profit & Loss financials and marketing.
Must have excellent people skills, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation both internally and externally.

An assertive and independent individual who has the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
Proven ability to prioritise tasks and plan/organise time efficiently.
Language skills desirable.
Negotiation skills at an intermediate level.
An experienced traveller who has a Cultural sensitivity.
Preferably degree educated.
Must have the ability to interface with all parts of the Laura Ashley business.
General computer skills, word, excel and power point.
